Below is a recent question asked in parliament, about teenage girls and abortion. The answer and tables are presented below. In 2010 3,716 teenage girls between 13-15 years old in England and Wales had an abortion. Two girls under 13 had and abortion. Also in 2010, 22,870 teenagers aged 16-18 had an abortion. David Paton, professor of economics at the university of Nottingham, is one of the foremost experts in the UK on teen pregnancy, contraceptive provision, and abortion, especially under the previous government and has written valuable studies on this topic. You can read his studies and presentations on the internet and on the
SPUC director blog.
Every year SPUC sends trained speakers into secondary schools, colleges, and universities all over the UK, presenting an accurate fact-based pro-life presentation for students. It is one of the most important things we do, because pupils and students deserve to hear the truth. To find out more email email eileenbrydon@spuc.org.uk or danielblackman@spuc.org.uk
